Enjoy Ketchikan with Rainforest Hiking and Cycling with E-Bikes!
Join us for an easy and enjoyable electric bicycle ride on the road to nowhere, the end of our islands’ paved road system.
Ride with us on our new, peddle assist, electric bikes to where the road ends at the edge of extensive wilderness where you will then take a guided hike on an enjoyable trail through dense rainforest, across a stream featuring a beautiful waterfall and a late season salmon run. This hike features a wide array of flora and fauna and beautiful beach views from which we often watch seals swimming, salmon jumping and sometimes even get to watch humpback whales feeding near the shoreline or Orcas passing by. It’s always possible to see black bears along the ride or the hike but not guaranteed.
The bike ride is 11 miles roundtrip and the hike (in the middle) is about 1.25 miles but with a maximum of 10 guests per tour. All of our tours are intimate and very educational. Often times throughout the summer we are the only tour out at the end of the road. What really sets us apart though are our guides. We are proud of our team and their rich blend of experiences and personalities that will guide your journey with us, surpassing the typical tours led by inexperienced seasonal guides.
Smoked salmon, salmon dip and other snacks (including vegan options), hot and cold beverages and a great view are awaiting you when we return to our scenic marina.
Details:
- No e-bike experience necessary, but you will be asked to sign a waiver stating that you have ridden a bicycle within the past two years. If this is not the case we ask that you please take a ride or two before vacation.
- Helmets, gloves, rain pants and rain jackets are provided. We recommend that you wear clothing that would be appropriate for an outdoor hike through the forest with the weather on your given day. The best advice for gearing up for any excursion along your cruise is to bring layers. Quick dry clothing is always better than blue jeans!
- Anyone under 5′ tall may have issues handling the size and weight of the e-bikes.
- Be sure to contact us if you’d like to inquire about larger private tour bookings: email: trips@ketchikankayakco.com or text 907-225-1272.

Both of our tours provide round trip transportation from the Cruise Docks in downtown Ketchikan & also the New Cruise Dock at Ward Cove. Downtown we meet at Cruise berth 3, the most central point on the docks for all 4 cruise ship berths. We are at the shelter on the dock next to the “Visitor Information/Restrooms” building and Sockeye Sam’s store 15 minutes before each departure.
We have a RED sign that says “Ketchikan Kayak Co.”
If you are at The Mill at Ward Cove, you are on the way from downtown to our tour location so we will stop by and pick you up along the way. Look for the RED sign 15 minutes after the tours downtown departure time at the corner of the welcome building. There is a large overhead door there in the corner by the restrooms.

Full payment is due at time of online booking. Cancellations due to weather are rare, but are at the sole discretion of Ketchikan Kayak Co. The weather in town does not necessarily reflect the weather in Clover Pass. If you miss your tour due to ship schedule changes (e.g. if your ship is late or skips this port) or we cancel due to weather, you will immediately receive a full refund.
Cancellations made prior to 7 days of tour date receive a full refund.
Cancellations made within 7 days of tour are not eligible for a refund unless we are able to resell the seats.
This is our official policy, but we know things happen in life, so please contact us with any changes and we’ll do our best to work it out. We’ve been Ketchikan’s #1 ranked tour for 5 years in a row now because of our great guides and because we take your limited time here on vacation very seriously.
